The
year 1995 was a special year for Aseed as it launched
its grassroot-level activities by spreading its tentacles
in the rural areas through direct implementation. A
new division for Grassroot Projects Implementation was
created named Aseed-Grameen and the
project offices were set up. The first project office
that came up was in Mirjapur, Uttar Pradesh., followed
by Bhojpur & Buxar (Bihar), Mewat (Haryana) and
Alligarh (UP), after that lots of project offices were
established according to our new ongoing projects. |
Aseed-Grameen
is concerned with the launching and implementation of
various projects at the grassroots level and networks
with the concerned local agencies. The range of activities
vary from simple motivation and training for the actual
establishment of small and micro enterprises with or
without micro credit and market support, as per the
felt need of the project. A number of grassroot-level
experiments have noted that the integrated process of
community development is more successful when the mobilization
process is taken up with the self-help group formation.
Thus, another major approach of working in the rural
areas, especially with women, is by building up the
group dynamics and trainer's skill and its linkage with
Micro Credit and Micro Enterprise promotion. The emphasis
is on encouraging micro enterprise creation with the
help of SHGs to attain sustainable community development. |
