urban influence has given a better commercial status
to floriculture and its potential as a viable agro business
is being recognised. The diverse agro climatic conditions,
low labour cost and the bio diversity available in India
provides competitive advantage to the country which
permits perennial production of flower varieties in
almost all parts of the country. Currently the major
states where floriculture has been popular are Karnataka,
Tamilnadu, Andhara Pradesh, West Bengal, Maharastra
