Initiation
of Action |
| |
During
the awareness generation programme of Aseed, he came to know
about the diversified agricultural practices. He took keen
interest in the deliberations and was enthused to know about
the SHGs. He joined one SHG where the met people going through
a similar situation like him. He took the initiative and played
an important role in the formation and strengthening of the
group. Soon, the SHG members were sent for training under
the Diversified Agriculture Support Project (DASP). Chandrapal
came to know about the procedure of making organic manure
and bio-pesticide from there. |

Generation
of Support |

He
was impressed with the organic manure and made it under the
guidance of the Aseed field functionaries. He successfully
made to manure at a comparatively low cost, which motivated
him to try production of bio-pesticide. Following the guidelines
given by the agricultural experts, he was able to make Neem
oil and Neem powder. For making these two products, Niboli
(Neem Fruit) is required in large quantities. Chadrapal came
up with a noble idea. He took the help of the village children.
These children were 50 paise for every kilogram of Niboli
they brought to Chandrapal. The idea clicked and he was able
to collect 16 quintals of the desired raw material. He sold
the end-products in the nearby areas. By doing so, he popularized
the technique and the product among other farmers. |

information with other farmers and familiarized them with
the different aspects of Neem products. He started training
the farmers at the block level and played an important role
in increasing awareness of teh people about bio-insecticides.
